A Kalispell man is facing multiple charges in Flathead County District Court after allegedly fleeing from police during a traffic stop.
Prosecutors charged Cadence Gordon Michael Keys-Hawk, 23, with felony counts of criminal endangerment and criminal possession of dangerous drugs following his Oct. 24 arrest in Kalispell. He is expected to appear before Judge Amy Eddy on Nov. 13 for his arraignment.
Keys-Hawk's run-in with law enforcement began after a Kalispell Police officer spotted him getting on a motorcycle on the 1100 block of Seventh Avenue West about 1:02 p.m., according to court documents. Knowing there was an active probation warrant out for Keys-Hawk's arrest, the officer attempted a traffic stop at the intersection of Eighth Avenue West and Seventh Street West.
Fleeing, Keys-Hawk nearly hit two other vehicles, court documents said.
Suspecting Keys-Hawk would return to the 1100 block of Seventh Avenue West, the officer alerted their colleagues. One responded in time to get out of their patrol vehicle and spot Keys-Hawk driving on his motorcycle. That officer had to move out of the way of Keys-Hawk's bike to avoid getting hit, according to court documents.
A third officer used his patrol vehicle to bring Keys-Hawk to heel, court documents said. While arresting Keys-Hawk, officers searched him and allegedly found a plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance suspected of being methamphetamine.
Keys-Hawk is already serving a deferred sentence on a 2023 felony criminal endangerment conviction. Prosecutors filed a petition to revoke the sentence in July.
A hearing in that case is scheduled for Nov. 20 in front of Judge Dan Wilson.
