State high school swim meets at a glance

Defending team champions: Mountain View (boys), Bishop Kelly (girls). 

NOTES: Lake City sophomore Eli Shaw, a two-time state champion in the 100-yard butterfly, is seeded seventh in 55.61 seconds ... Coeur d’Alene junior Andrew Davis is second in the 200 freestyle (1:48.18) after winning last year’s title ... Davis is also second in the 500 freestyle (4:58.38) where he was runner-up last season ... Lake City junior Tillie Sobek, second in the 200 freestyle last year, is seeded third (1:58.07) ... Coeur d’Alene junior Allie Maykuth is second in the 100 butterfly (1:00.91) ... Coeur d’Alene has 10 boys participants and Lake City has five ... The Vikings have 12 girls in the meet, Lake City 18 ... “Our outlooks for the state meet is strong,” first-year Coeur d’Alene coach Israel Morrow said. “We have strong relay teams on both the men’s and women’s side.” ... “It should be a great meet,” seventh-year Lake City coach Shelly Sobek said. “Bishop Kelly is strong on the girls side with 23 individuals qualifying. That makes us the underdogs, but we are ready for a good fight.” ... Mountain View of Meridian snapped Boise’s streak of state titles dating back to 2018 in last year’s meet ... Bishop Kelly of Boise, in its first year at the 6A level won the state title last year, ending Lake City’s three-year reign as champion.

NOTES: Lakeland qualified six boys for the state meet, with sophomore Sam Harrell qualifying in four events, including three relays alongside senior Garrett Snyder, sophomore Silas Ragan and senior Brock Raebel.
