George Adams, 90

George L. Adams, 90, our beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Nov. 3, 2025, in Post Falls, Idaho. 

George Lehi Adams was born April 25, 1935, to LaVere and Genevieve Adams in Murray, Utah. He was the sixth of eight children. He lived in Utah until age 5, when his family moved to Little Blacktail Mountain in Careywood, Idaho. 

George attended schools in Careywood, Athol, and Sandpoint. He graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School in 1954, after the family moved to Hayden, Idaho. He excelled in track and basketball. 

George met Marilyn Elston of Spirit Lake, Idaho, in the fall of 1955. They married a year later on Oct. 5, 1956, and recently celebrated their 69th anniversary. The couple raised five kids in Post Falls. The family was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 

George worked as a millwright for Kaiser Aluminum for over 40 years. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with family. He enjoyed thrift stores, garage sales, auctions and finding a bargain. 

George is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children Shellie (Thom) Wilson, Daryll Adams, Gordon (Kay) Adams, Glenn (Mary) Adams, Karla (Jeff) Eich, and Rick (Karleen) Dammarell; as well as 14 grandchildren and over 40 great-grandchildren. 

George was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Dave, Blaine, Lowell and Wendell, sisters Beth Plaster, Vera Rae Dammarell and Maurine Gravelle, as well as two grandsons, Blaine Adams and Shawn Novcaski. 

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1824 E. 16th Ave., Post Falls, Idaho. 

A luncheon will follow. 

Farewell, Dad … we'll keep the fire burning.
