I grew up in the small town of Orwigsburg, Pa., where I resided all of my life before moving to Sandpoint. I attended Blue Mountain High School, where I participated in cross country and track and field, a sport that I ended up falling in love with. I went on to attend and run for DeSales University (with other brief stints at Susquehanna University and Elizabethtown College) and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sport communication with a minor in sport management. I remember just how great it made me feel when I was mentioned in my hometown newspaper. I want to be able to give that feeling to every athlete in Bonner County, no matter how big or small their accomplishments are. As an athlete myself, I know how many hours of work are put in on a daily basis, and that hard work deserves to be recognized. It is my goal to cover as much of the Bulldogs, Spartans and Wampus Cats as I can. I want to work with every athlete, parent, coach, administrator and the community to ensure the best stories are published. | November 7, 2025 1:00 AM

Adam Hall, Utah Valley Head Wresting Coach

A 2006 graduate of Bonners Ferry High, Adam, in his second year as head coach of Utah Valley, picked up his third career win over a ranked opponent as his Wolverines snatched a 19-12 season-opening victory over No. 14 Stanford at the UCCU Center this past Saturday. Utah Valley won six of 10 matches, five of which came by decision and one via major decision.

"We beat a very talented team tonight in Stanford — I know they were missing some guys from their lineup, but our focus and mindset did not change," Hall said in an article by the Utah Valley Sports Information Department. "We knew we would be tested, but we were ready for the challenge. Our team showed tonight that we also have talent, and some new faces brought a spark that we needed."

Hall said the win over the Cardinals, in front of a home crowd of 1,300, was a big step forward for the program.

Utah Valley (1-0) will compete next at the Cyclone Invitational hosted by Iowa State University on Saturday at Hilton Coliseum. The invitational is sponsored by Daily's Premium Meats, and the winner of each weight class will go home with bacon and swag courtesy of the title sponsor. Iowa State, Wisconsin, Utah Valley, California Baptist and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville will be in attendance.
