NO. 31661 PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE CITY OF COLUMBIA FALLS LOCAL GOVERNMENT STUDY COMMISSION The Columbia Falls Local Government Study Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at Columbia Falls City Hall, 130 6th Street West, Columbia Falls, Montana. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comment on the Tentative Report of the Columbia Falls Local Government Study Commission, which recommends that the voters of the City of Columbia Falls amend the City’s existing plan of government by adopting self-government powers under Montana law. If approved by voters, adoption of self-government powers would provide the City Government with enhanced flexibility to address future community needs while retaining all general government authority currently exercised by the City. The Tentative Report summarizes the Study Commission’s review process, public survey results, meeting summaries, findings, and recommendations. Following the public hearing and consideration of public input, the Study Commission will finalize its report at its January 21, 2026, meeting, including setting the date for a citywide election on the proposed amendment to the City’s plan of government.
