Ann V. Barbagello, 87
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 3 weeks, 2 days AGO
Ann Barbagello lived a full and rich life. She peacefully left her earthly body to be with the Lord and her late husband, John, on Nov. 6, 2025, at the age of 87. They shared 39 precious years of marriage together after 10 years of courting. She was surrounded by the love of her family and friends who traveled from all parts of the country to see her in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
Ann was born to Fredrick Hahn and Evelyn (Storm) Hahn in Battle Creek, Mich., on June 4, 1938. Ann lost her brother, Fritz, too early in life and was survived by her sister, Christine. Ann was blessed to have five children, 11 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, with one on the way, and, of course, her "fur baby," Barbie.
Ann placed her faith in God and was a true patriot. Her love of the outdoors and adventure included fishing, golfing and road trips. She loved music and dancing, and we loved hearing her angelic singing voice. She had an eye for design and an appreciation for beauty. She was a skilled saleswoman, but perhaps her proudest accomplishment, outside of motherhood, was her time on the campaign trail as a delegate for the Republican Party during the Reagan era. Ann had a heart for animals and was a regular supporter of Companions Animal Shelter. She also appreciated her "Hospice family" at Hospice of North Idaho and the care they provided for both John and her. Contributions in memory of her to one of those causes in lieu of flowers would be welcomed. Her sparkle will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Funeral service will be Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Yates Funeral Home — Coeur d'Alene Chapel (744 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814). Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery in Coeur d'Alene.
