The GIS field focuses on storing, managing, and analyzing geographical information on a computer. In short, GIS is mapping technology and is creatively used across many industries to empower data-driven decisions and program management.

Flathead Valley GIS Day will be held at Flathead Electric Cooperative’s Community Room from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, November 19. Although the free event is aimed at GIS pros, members of the public interested in the field of GIS work – including high school and college students – are also encouraged to attend.
