In Loving Memory of Patricia Smout (1946-2025)

Patricia Smout lived a life surrounded by love. Born in Lewiston, Mont., in 1946, she later moved with her family – Barney and Ethel Johnson and her four siblings – to Polson, where her roots and friendships grew deep.

Patricia married and became a devoted mother to her two children, Tony and Valerie, who were the lights of her life. She filled her days with crafts, puzzles and laughter – always keeping her hands busy and her heart open. A quick wit and a good sense of humor followed her wherever she went; she never missed a chance to turn an ordinary moment into a shared smile.

She is survived by her brothers, Erwin Johnson and Robert Johnson, her sister, Linda Garcia, her two children, Valerie Orlandini and Tony Peterson, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her loyal sister-in-law Vickie Johnson. 

Patricia's love, laugher, and warmth will be carried on in each of them, and in every memory she leaves behind.

A celebration of Patricia's life will be held in Spring 2026. All those who knew and loved her are warmly welcome to join in honoring her memory.
