BFHS Badgers announce football awards

A dozen Bonners Ferry High Schol football players received All-Intermountain League honors. The honors for the 4A IML includes awards for MVP, defensive player of the year and coach of the year. The Badgers finished 2-0 in the conference, finishing in first place ahead of Moscow and Timberlake.
2025 Bonners Ferry All-IML football selections:
IML MVP — Keenan Maas (senior)
Maas ran for 1,664 yards, over 1,000 more than any other player in the conference with 20 touchdowns. On the defensive side, he added 55 tackles, including five tackles for a loss. He also had two fumble recoveries and two interceptions.
IML Defensive Player of the Year — Conrad Hiatt (senior)
In his final year, Hiatt led the team with 84 tackles, averaging 10.5 tackles per game. He also caused two fumbles and had five TFL’s. On the offensive side, Hiatt ran for 584 yards and had 263 receiving yards. He scored nine touchdowns.
IML Newcomer of the Year — James Morgen (senior)
Morgen had 22 tackles, five TFL’s and three sacks.
“James Morgen was a really pleasant surprise for us on the offensive and defensive line. He’s a weight room warrior. He does all the right things,” BFHS head coach Danny Swift said.
All-IML selections:
OL — Kait Aitken (senior), Taylor Dodd (junior)
Aitken caused and recovered a fumble, also contributing a tackle for a loss with his work on the defensive line. He was also a steady presence on the offensive line.
Dodd had 37 tackles, including 7 TFL’s which ranked second on the team.
“He’s really taken that leap from his sophomore year to his junior year,” Swift said.
TE — Cooper Higgins (junior)
Higgins had the most receiving yards in the conference, with 280. His average of 18.7 yards per catch was the most on the team. Higgins finished second in the conference in interceptions, with three.
DL — Sulay Abubakari (senior), Daric Vincent (senior)
Abubakari had 33 tackles. His three fumble recoveries were the most on the team. He ranked third on the team with 172 yards receiving.
Vincent recorded 52 tackles. His 14 TFL’s, seven sacks and 53 sack yards lost all led the Badgers.
LB — Jake Solt (junior)
Solt had 54 total tackles, including four tackles for a loss. He added an interception and sack.
DB — Giovanni Faraoni (senior), Riston Allred (junior)
Faraoni defended nine passes, second most on the team. He also had 28 tackles.
Allred led the conference with four interceptions and recovered two fumbles. He also caught 115 yards with a touchdown.
Coach of the Year — Danny Swift
Swift led Bonners Ferry to a 7-3 record, their best season since 2022. It was the second winning record for the Badgers in the last 20 years.
