Glacier wins then falls at State volleyball, Polson into late game

BOZEMAN — For the third straight season the Glacier Wolfpack volleyball team bounced Missoula Sentinel from the Class AA State Volleyball Tournament at Brick Breeden Fieldhouse.
Marlo Carpenter, Allie Krueger and Grace Lingle registered 10 kills each as the Wolfpack earned a second game Friday against Billings Senior with a five-set thriller.
Down 11-7 in the final set, Glacier battled back for a 17-15 victory.
In their second match Friday, Glacier fell to Billings Senior in straight sets.
In Class A, Polson bounced back from a loss late Thursday to Frenchtown with a 3-1 victory over Laurel.

Carpenter added five blocks for the Wolfpack, who won 25-23, 12-25, 26-24, 26-25, 17-15.
Madi Stevens had 39 assists to lead Glacier, Addison Thramer and Addison Malchi each added 11 digs and one ace.
Marlow Arceniega led the way for Sentinel with 13 kills.

Billings Senior eliminated Glacier with a straight sets victory 25-14, 25-7, 25-17.
The win for the Broncs moves them into a fourth-place match against CMR late Thursday.
Allie Krueger and Grace Lingle combined for 11 kills for the Pack.

McKenna Curley had 18 kills and Eliza Todd added 11, two blocks and six aces as Polson advanced into Thursday evening’s fourth place game after downing Laurel in four sets 25-10, 25-19, 21-25, 25-16.
The Lady Pirates faced off with Havre in the late match, and the Blue Ponies got some revenge, ousting the Pirates in straight sets. Stats were not available at press time.
