BFHS girls soccer was 6-4 in league play, third in the conference. They scored 30 goals and conceded 17.
Nevaeh Therrien, No. 11, captain, defender and IML All-League:
Therrien joined the BFHS girls soccer team in her sophomore year and never looked back, showing herself as a strong defensive force. By the end of her junior year, she stepped into a leadership position with the team. Therrien led the defense as a center back this year and played with composure, maturity, communication, providing great timing on her tackles. She was constantly aggressive and worked whenever she was on the field.
Maddie Hart, No. 14, captain, foward and IML All-League:
The top scorer for three years in a row, Hart played varsity all four years of high school and was someone the team relied on for offensive attacks, scoring goals, taking corners, or assisting others. According to head coach Emily Winebark, Hart has a mind for the game and knows how to move the ball forward. She has also been a captain for two years, showing patience, compassion and encouraging leadership among younger girls. Hart loves soccer and wants others to love it too.
Alexys Mierke, No. 13, captain, midfielder, team MVP and IML All-League MVP:
Mierke is a powerhouse and a non-stop force. She played varsity soccer all four years, starting at forward. She is a great passer who created many plays and scoring opportunities, while always getting back to help her team defend. According to Winebark, Mierke is smaller than most players on the field but is skillful enough that she was often man-marking players more experienced and larger than her. At times throughout her career, she played through pain. Mierke is passionate about winning and gave her all every moment she was on the field. She is a true competitor.
