CdA man charged with lewd conduct

A Coeur d’Alene real estate agent was arrested Wednesday, Nov. 12 in Kootenai County for alleged sexual abuse stemming from a 2013 incident in Boundary County.
Scott Dustin Smith, 48, was arrested on Nov. 12 in Kootenai County on allegations of lewd conduct with a minor under the age of 16, according to a criminal complaint.
According to the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office, Smith has been booked into the Kootenai County Jail and is awaiting transfer to Boundary County. He is being held without a bond until his first appearance in court.
The Hayden real estate official was arrested at his office Wednesday, Nov. 12, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff inmate list.
BCSO officials said Smith was arrested as a result of an ongoing investigation into allegations of inappropriate conduct involving a minor.
The arrest was made by BCSO detectives Brandon Blackmore and Nick Delavan in collaboration with the United States Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force.
BCSO investigators said there may be additional victims and encouraged them to come forward.
To protect the privacy and integrity of the case, BSCO officials said no further information is being provided at this time.
