When the Grizzlies have the ball: Eli Gillman went over 1,000 rushing yards for the second time last week and has 3,185 in 30 career games. Michael Wortham is second in rushing with 243 yards and 5 TDs; at receiver Wortham has 54 catches for 779 yards and seven scores. Brooks Davis is up to 35 catches for 491; Blake Bohanan is averaging 16.6 yards a catch for QB Keali’i Ah Yat (208 of 308 passing, 2,784 yards and 21 TDs).
When the Vikings have the ball: John-Keawe Sagapolutele has thrown for 1,399 yards and four touchdowns but also has 12 interceptions. Sophomore Delon Thompson has 561 yards and 7 TDs and averages 3.5 yards a carry. Six receivers have missed significant time, but freshman Cru Newman has 22 catches for 234 yards and is up to 900 all-purpose yards, and Terence Loville (23 catches, 399 yards) has two 100-yard receiving games.
Notable: This is the Vikings’ first game at Providence Park since 2018 and the Grizzlies’ first appearance there since 2015. ... UM leads the series 35-13 and is 15-9 on the Vikings home field(s). ... The Griz are 10-0 for the first time since 2009. ... Mouse Davis, 93-year-old architect of the run-and-shoot at PSU, will be honored Saturday. ... LB Peyton Wing led PSU with 93 tackles in 2024; he is third on the Griz with 49 this season. ... PSU kicker Mathias Uribe has hit 11 straight field goals.

When the Aggies have the ball: Redshirt freshman Caden Pinnick has thrown for 1,987 yards and 20 touchdowns and run for another 237 yards and 3 scores. His favorite target is Samuel Gbatu, Jr., who has 43 catches for 742 yards and a Big Sky-best eight TDs; Stacy Dobbins is next with 35 catches for 416, with two scores. Ten different Aggies have caught TDs. Running back Jordan Fisher is averaging 6.4 yards a carry and has 787 on the season.
When the Bobcats have the ball: Justin Lamson is completing passing at a 72-percent clip, for 3,026 yards 18 TDs with two interceptions. Taco Dowler’s 51 catches for 645 yards and five scores lead the Cats. Julius Davis (709 yards, 7.4 a carry) is the top ground-gainer in an offense that averages 232.8 yards on the ground. Adam Jones is next at 593 (5.5 a carry). Jones has nine rushing TDs and Davis six.
Notable: Pinnick (176.5) and Lamson (170.3) are 1-2 in the Big Sky in passing efficiency. ... MSU is 8-1 all-time against the Aggies, including a 30-28 win in 2024. UC Davis won the first meeting in 2006, 45-0. ... With RB Carter Vargas out, Gbatu had four carries for 44 yards for the Aggies against Idaho last week. ... DE Jacob Psyk has 13.5 tackles for loss for the Aggies, tying him for seventh in the FCS. ... Tim Plough his 18-5 in his second season at UCD; Brent Vigen is 55-12 in his fifth at MSU.

Flathead Crusaders claim national title
The Flathead Valley Crusaders, a local home-schooled basketball team, made a bit of history in February when they overcame injury and made a late-season push to the Montana Christian Athletic Association boys state title. They weren’t done.

When we sit back to watch the Big Sky Conference absorb another lopsided loss at the NCAA Tournament — Idaho's men play Houston at 8:10 p.m. local time Thursday on that channel we watch once a year, TRUTV — we can at least root for the home-grown kids.
