Judith M. Gilbert (Judy) peacefully entered the presence of the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025, in Spokane, Wash. Judy was born in Kellogg, Idaho, on Dec. 11, 1939, to Delbert and Pearl Mabe.

She graduated from Kellogg High School in 1958. She married the love of her life, Larry Gilbert, on June 4, 1960, in Coeur d’Alene.

For many years, Judy was the Admitting Supervisor at Sacred Heart Medical Center. During the winter in retirement, Judy and Larry were residents of Sun City, Ariz., and loved to vacation on the Oregon Coast. Judy enjoyed quilting, reading and traveling in their RV. Holidays with Judy and Larry were legendary, especially when she baked her famous zucchini bread. Her family meant the world to her. Every grandchild eventually took their turn wearing the same classic sailor suit for their first portrait. Judy was also a member of St. Charles parish and the local MG car club.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Richard (Dick), Jackie and Dennis, and her sisters, Irene and Mary Ann. Judy is survived by her husband of 65 years, Larry; her sons, Jerry (Terra), Mark and Troy; her nieces, Tammy (Mitch) Wasson and Laurie (Pete) Hanlon; her sister-in-law, Arlene Bunker; and her nephews, Layne (Tara) Bunker, Rick Findley and Doug Findley. Judy is also survived by her grandchildren, Ryan, Dylan, Tyler, Josh, Cortney, Colton and Natalie; great-grandchildren Atley, Asa, Addelai and Elijah; extended family and friends.

She will be terribly missed by all of us. A rosary for Judy will be held Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, at 6 p.m. at Hennessey Funeral Home in Spokane, with a celebration of life to take place also at Hennessey Funeral Home on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025, at 11 a.m., with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Spokane.
