The Coeur d’Alene Big Band will be playing for the Coeur d’Alene Eagles November Tea Dance in the ballroom from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Although some scheduling conflicts occurred in September and October, the Big Band is back on schedule for the third Sunday of each month, November through May.

Coeur d'Alene Big Band brings a variety of swing dance and big band music to the forefront with its large, fun-loving, dance community in the area. It always begins the Tea Dances with the well-known song "In the Mood."

“The unmistakable riff, the jubilant brass blasts and the infectious rhythm of 'In the Mood' by Glenn Miller have long symbolized the golden era of big band swing music," reads historyofmusic.net. "Released in 1939, this song became an anthem of a generation and remains one of the most iconic and enduring pieces of American music history. It epitomizes the vibrant energy of the swing era and captures a spirit of celebration and joy that transcended the hardships of its time. The song’s infectious groove and memorable melody helped it become a defining soundtrack for both the dance floors and the hearts of millions, solidifying Glenn Miller’s legacy as one of the greatest bandleaders in history.”

This month, Coeur d'Alene Big Band will feature such songs as "New York, New York," sung by vocalist Josh Grant; "Blue Skies," "Boot Scootin’ Boogie," "Hot-Cha Cha Cha," "Fever" and "Misty." The band plays a variety of styles including Latin, polkas, ballads, waltzes and boogie woogie for the enjoyment of all dancers.

The dances are open to the public with a $10 cover charge.
