Bridges Homes brings Celtic vibe to Newport

Create Art Center is hosting Tami and Dave Gunter, widely known as the popular musical duo of “Bridges Home,” at a special concert.

The concert will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today, Nov. 15 at the center, 900 W. Fourth St., Newport

Bridges Home is comprised of vocalists and multi-instrumentalists Tami and Dave Gunter who deliver a captivating array of musical styles from high-energy Celtic, bluegrass and originals to foot-stomping roots music; haunting Irish ballads and finely crafted instrumentals.

Joanne Heinz joins them with her mountain dulcimer. 

The music of Bridges Home sparkles with intricately woven vocal harmonies, accompanied by Celtic harp, ukulele, clawhammer-style banjo, mandolin and octave mandolin, Irish whistles, accordion, bodhran, cigar box guitar, resonator guitar and foot percussion.

In concert, they deliver a captivating array of musical styles: high-energy Celtic, old-time and bluegrass; lowdown delta blues; foot-stomping Americana and roots music; haunting Irish ballads and finely crafted instrumentals. Instruments played include tenor ukulele, clawhammer banjo, Celtic harp, accordion, mandolin and octave mandolin, acoustic guitar, resonator slide guitar, cigar box guitar, Irish whistles, bodhran, stompbox and washboard. With their popular transition to festival shows and theater concerts, Bridges Home has placed a new emphasis on audience-pleasing originals and the stories that inspired them.

Tickets are $15 with students admitted at no charge.
