Daniel Gordon Swartzenberger, 82, passed away Oct. 24, 2025. He was born to Isabel Swartzenberger in Van Nuys, California on Aug. 29, 1943.
Dan was the oldest of 11 children — five brothers, Butch, Ronnie, Joe, Jim and Dale, and five sisters, Barbara, Dana, Donna, Debbie and Lori. In 1955 they moved to Kalispell to continue their family business. After the passing of his father, John Swartzenberger he quit school to help the family business.
He married Lynda Franklin in 1972, who had two children, Bill and Lisa Franklin. The couple had one son in 1974, Tony Swartzenberger. In 1995 they moved to Polson to be close to Lynda’s parents.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lynda Swartzenberger in 2018.
He enjoyed fishing, spending time in his wood shop working on one of his many projects, playing pinochle — called too competitive by some — and watching westerns, especially John Wayne.
He was hardheaded but had the softest heart, he would drop anything to help family, friends or neighbors. His family was the most important thing to him.
