COEUR d’ALENE — A man who pleaded guilty to possessing child sexual abuse material will spend up to 20 years in prison, according to the Kootenai County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Travis M. McClure, 43, pleaded guilty in June to three counts of sexual exploitation of children by possession of sexually exploitative material and a single count of video voyeurism, all felonies. 

First District Judge Casey Simmons sentenced McClure this week to 20 years in prison for the crimes, with parole eligibility after eight years.

The charges stem from last August, when police began investigating tips that McClure was accessing child sexual abuse material, according to prosecutors. Police obtained search warrants for several cellphones belonging to McClure and found evidence indicating McClure possessed such material. 

Prosecutors said investigators also found digital files depicting a nude woman and discovered that McClure had uploaded the files onto the internet without the woman’s knowledge or consent.
