MOSCOW — The Post Falls Trojans led by two points after three quarters before falling 43-37 to the Moscow Bears in the season opener for both teams Saturday afternoon at Bear Den.

“The first half we got a ton of great shots, we just did not make them,” first-year Post Falls coach Brian Carlson said. “I was really happy with our effort; we competed. The second half we ran out of gas a little bit; their pressure got to us.”

Junior Jaya Felix hit three 3-pointers and led Post Falls with 17 points and “probably had a double-double with about 12 rebounds,” Carlson said. “She gobbled up every single rebound, and attacked the basket well.”

Jessa Skinner scored a game-high 20 points for Moscow.

Post Falls is without its top player, senior Kailey Walton, who suffered a hamstring injury in tryouts.

Post Falls travels to Sandpoint on Tuesday.
