Members of Coeur d’Alene Elks Lodge 1254 gathered recently to celebrate the addition of a statue of their namesake: a bugling elk with seven antler points on each side.

The life-size ungulate stands at the entrance to the lodge’s RV park, where it’s already inspiring awe.

“Since we’ve put it here, it’s made an impression,” Pat White said with a smile.

For the Elks, the statue is more than just a piece of art.

“It’s a monument to our past, a beacon for our future and a symbol of our enduring bond with this community,” said Robbin Moore, the exalted ruler of Coeur d’Alene Elks Lodge 1254. “It represents the tireless volunteer spirit that has driven our members for generations.”

Moore said the statue stands as a testament to the hard work, camaraderie and commitment that built the lodge.

“For the community, it serves as a public declaration of our purpose — to serve others with generosity and compassion,” she said.
