Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 2 weeks, 3 days AGO
Fred L. "Jack" Hartley Jr., 66, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on Nov. 10, 2025, in Bigfork. Born in Palos Verdes, California, on Dec. 21, 1958, Jack was the son of the late Fred L. Hartley Sr. and Margaret Alice Hartley. A dedicated Dodgers fan and University of Southern California alum, Jack was known to his friends and family as a man who was larger than life. Always quick to find humor in any situation, he charmed everyone he crossed paths with and never met a stranger.
Passionate about charitable giving, Jack worked to better both the San Antonio and Bigfork communities he called home. He supported first responders, veterans’ groups, animal welfare efforts, and medical advances. He cherished time with family, boating on Flathead Lake, and discussing baseball and racing with friends.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his son, Nicholas Olson-Hartley; his daughter-in-law, Katie Olson-Hartley; and his grandchildren, Heidi and Stellan Olson-Hartley. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Chris Olson-Hartley of San Antonio, Texas; son, Jonathan Hartley, and daughter-in-law, Alexandra Rains Hartley, both of Reston, Virginia, and many friends who mourn his loss.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those inclined and able to make a donation to the Alano Club Kalispell or the Special Olympics Montana in Jack’s memory.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home is caring for the family.
