Griz comeback bid falls short at Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Money Williams scored all 22 of his points as Montana’s second half comeback falls short in an 86-81 defeat to Texas A&M Tuesday at Reed Arena.
Williams was a perfect 8 for 8 in the second half with five 3-pointers, he added five rebounds before fouling out with nine seconds left in the game.
Brooklyn Hicks added 18 points on 7 of 9 shooting, Tyler Isaak tallied 13.
The Grizzlies trailed 45-31 at the half and 73-54 with 6:29 left before Williams and Hicks combined on a quick 9-0 run to cut the deficit to 10.
Williams hit three triples in a 13-second span to make it an 81-80 game with nine seconds left.
The Aggies sealed the game at the free throw line with a pair from Josh Holloway and Rashaun Agee that made it 85-81.
Montana ended the game knocking down their final 12 shots from the field.
Rylan Griffen led the Aggies with 17 points on 6 of 9 shooting.
Agee had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Rube Dominguez had 12 points. Pop Isaacs and Zach Clemence added 10 each to put five Aggies in double figures.
Montana is back home on Sunday as they welcome Oakland and Lamar to Missoula for the Blaine Taylor Classic. The Griz will play Lamar Sunday before taking on Oakland Tuesday.
