Wilson, a sophomore, won her second straight state 6A individual golf title on Oct. 10, shooting a 2-under-par 140 at RedHawk Golf Course in Nampa, winning by six strokes. “Ella’s mental approach and preparation are a huge part of what sets her apart,” Coeur d’Alene girls golf coach Jeff Lake said. “She stays composed and focused, no matter what’s happening on the course, which is so rare for someone her age. She doesn’t let a bad shot or hole rattle her and she is always preparing and reflecting about what’s next and how to improve.”
