Lavon Phillip Hill Jr., 65, of Stevensville, Montana, passed away on Nov. 8, 2025, just one day shy of his 66th birthday. He was born in Libby, Montana, on Nov. 9, 1959, to Lavon and Marlene Hill.

Lavon grew up in Columbia Falls, where he graduated from Columbia Falls High School in 1978. In 1982, he married the love of his life, Lorna Rae, and settled in Kalispell. Together they built a family filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories.

For more than 25 years, Lavon worked for Stillwater Forest Products, where his dedication and skill shone through in his work as a lumber grader and plant manager. He took pride in his craftsmanship and the friendships he made along the way.

Outside of work, Lavon was a man of many passions. He loved spending time outdoors—especially fishing, hunting, and enjoying Montana’s beauty. He was also an avid fan of stock car racing and football. Above all, Lavon treasured time spent with his family, who meant the world to him.

Lavon was preceded in death by his parents, Lavon and Marlene Hill; his brother, Lonnie Hill; and his infant daughter, Lindsay, who passed away shortly after birth on March 16, 1986.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Lorna Rae Hill; his son Lavon Hill III (Rochelle); his beloved grandchildren Lavon Hill IV and Kendall Hill; and his sisters Deana Green (Terry) and Donna Blake.

Lavon will be remembered for his steady kindness, strong work ethic, and the love he showed to all who knew him.

At this time, no services are planned.
