Michael G. Shriner, 75, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away Nov. 8, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. Make was born Nov. 7, 1950, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He was raised on the family farm at Fighting Creek, Worley, Idaho.
Mike attended school and graduated from high school in Worley. He followed that with college in Coeur d’Alene. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and had a tour of duty in Vietnam. After being honorably discharged, he worked at various jobs before settling into logging. He owned his own skidders for some time, then worked for Kuhlman Logging, Don Brown Logging and Seth Campbell Logging. Mike was the Idaho State Rubber Tire Skidder Champion twice in the 1980s, and he was very proud of it.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rodney (Mike) and Lillie Ruth Shriner, a sister, Frances, and a brother, Carl. He is survived by his wife, Karen, mother-in-law Patricia, sisters Shirley, Grace and Joan, son Jason, stepson Joseph (Molly), stepdaughter Bonnie (Levi), grandchildren Jake, (Lydia), Justin (Emily), Liam (Raph), Naomi, Jacob, Gabe and Shelbie, great-grandsons Rhynden, Rueul and Ransom, numerous loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends and last, but not least, his constant companion, his little dog Daisy.
Donations can be made to the Companions Animal Center in Hayden, Idaho, or the American Cancer Society in Mike’s honor.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, at 11 a.m. English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls, Idaho.
