Panel discussion to focus on conservation easements

Landowners and conservation-minded residents are invited to a free panel on conservation easements from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, Nov. 20, at Flathead Valley Community College’s Arts & Technology Building, Room 144 A/B.

The event will bring together local land trusts and partner organizations alongside landowners who have already placed easements on their property to share insight into the process and its benefits for families and communities across the Flathead, Swan, Mission and Lincoln Valleys.

Have you ever wondered, “What exactly is a conservation easement?” or whether it could be a good fit for your land? This panel is designed to demystify easements; help landowners understand how they can keep agricultural, forest, and open lands in family ownership for generations; and answer questions about financial, tax and logistical considerations.
