The interesting world of puppets and marionettes is the focus of a new exhibit at the Wanda Hollensteiner Art Gallery in Kalispell.
The exhibition, “Small Worlds,” will feature a variety of puppets and marionettes, including a collection of antique Sicilian Opera dei Pupi (puppet theater), Indonesian shadow puppets and a collection of handmade marionettes of the members of the Lewis and Clark expedition. Model stage set designs and architectural models will also be featured.
The public is invited to attend an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 17. The exhibition will be on display through Jan. 5. The gallery, which is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays, is located inside the Wachholz College Center, 795 Grandview Dr.
The show has been made possible through the loan of items from private collections and from Polson Flathead Lake Museum.
