Our exceptional Deborah Goetze transitioned to The Light on Oct. 29, 2025. Deborah was full of empathy, kindness and love. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend.

She was born in Burbank, Calif., on Nov. 14, 1950. Deborah grew up in South Pasadena, Calif. She graduated from Cal Poly in 1972 and stayed in San Luis Obispo, Calif., until she moved to Kooskia, Idaho, and married her husband, Bob, in 1985. They came to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, in 1988, when their son, Michael, was born.

Deborah was truly beautiful inside and out. She was intelligent, full of curiosity and very creative. Deborah loved dancing. She was incredible as she moved, exuding grace and passion. She also loved nature and her walks around Tubbs Hill and points east and west.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; her son, Michael; her sister, Jacalyn; and her brother, Gary. Preceding her in death are her mother, Jean; father Richard; brother Rick; and sister Teri.

She endured her long struggle with cancer with grace and dignity. She was well cared for and loved by her doctors, nurses and medical providers. Deborah brought wisdom, beauty and joy to many people. She is greatly loved and missed.
