It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Linda D (Higgins) Stubbs, 66, of Rathdrum, Idaho.

She passed away on Oct. 16, 2025, from liver cancer. Linda was born in Albany, California on Nov. 15, 1958, to Lester and Mary Higgins. In 1965 she moved to Bend, Oregon where she spent her childhood. When she was a teenager, her family moved to Libby, Montana. She spent her high school years at Libby High School.

She has one sibling, Steven Higgins. She loved to go square dancing, where she met her devoted husband of 49 years. She was a stay-at-home mom until her youngest child started elementary school. She went to Libby Community College and earned a degree in Bookkeeping.

For numerous years she worked as a full-charge bookkeeper for Mark Owens Logging, after that for Noble Excavation in Libby. In 2018, to find work and be closer to children and grandchildren, they moved to Rathdrum Idaho, where she worked for Simco in Coeur d’Alene until she retired.

Her life was wrapped around her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved camping and spending time outdoors. She always made her home a place of comfort and love, where all were welcome. Though her passing leaves a deep ache that words can’t fill, her spirit lives on forever in her children and grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her husband Glenn Stubbs of Rathdrum Idaho, her three children, Jessica (Stubbs) Swink, son-in-law Joseph Swink of Spokane, Washington, Anna Stubbs of Rathdrum, Idaho, Scott Stubbs and daughter-in-law Kelly Stubbs of Addy, Washington, her brother Steven Higgins of Kaizer, Oregon, four grandchildren and three nieces.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at a later date in Libby, Montana.
