Stacey Lynn Shaffer, 59, went to be with our Lord on Oct. 4, 2025, born and raised in Missouri.
Stacy brought light and laughter whenever she went. Her vibrant, outgoing personality made her a friend to all-she never met a stranger, only a future friend. Whether it was a quick chat or a helping hand, Stacey always had time for others.
She spent her early years working in her mother’s restaurant in Ohio, all while raising her two beloved children, Nathaniel and Jamie. Later, she found her calling behind a bar, where her warmth and wit made her a favorite among patrons and coworkers alike.
In her early 30s, Stacey moved to Montana and discovered a deep love of gardening, canning and holistic medicine. If you had an ailment, she had a remedy-often pulled from her cherished herbal books and mixed with care. She could coax life from the barest of soil and joy from the simplest of moments.
After the heartbreaking loss of her daughter Jamie in 2005, Stacey found healing in the saddle, riding in omoksees on Jamie's horse Fairtime. It was a tribute of love and resilience that carried her through the years.
In 2008, Stacey met her companion, Mike Lee. Together, they built a home filled with grandkids, family and the occasional herbal concoction. In her final years, Stacey poured her heart into her grandkids, cherishing every moment and creating memories that live on in their hearts.
Stacey’s legacy is one of kindness, strength and joy. She taught us to grow - not only just gardens, but friendships, families and love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
She is preceded in death by her mother Janice Ruth Taylor, her father Bobby Ray Leneave and her daughter Jamie Leigh Lanham.
She leaves behind her companion Mike Lee, son Nathaniel McDonald, grandkids Wren and Tanner McDonald, sister Stephanie Opie, niece Shaundra (Chris) Conner, stepdaughter Stephanie( Mike) Wallace, grandkids Halle and Ella Wallace, stepsons Timothy Lee and Jacob Lee, stepdaughter Jennifer Lee and grandkids Ikarus, Keianna and Timori, Summer Robertson, and many other friends.
A celebration of life will be held in the Summer of 2026.
