ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Roman Turnbull, Sandpoint Football

This week's Athlete of the Week is Roman Turnbull of Sandpoint Football.

A senior middle linebacker, Roman posted a tied for season-high 14 total tackles, 10 of which were solo and two of which were for losses, in the Bulldogs' 5A state quarterfinals matchup against Skyline. On the season, the 5-foot-11-inch, 185-pound standout produced a team-high 99 total tackles (9.0 tackles per game), 17 of which were for losses that included five sacks for a combined 26 yards in losses. He also caused and recovered a fumble in addition to his nearly 100 total tackles, which ranks as No. 2 in the state's 5A classification.
