In Loving Memory of

Charlotte Rutherford Sloan

July 21,1931-Nov. 15, 2025

Charlotte L. Rutherford was born on the Rutherford family homestead on Carrol Ave. in Whitefish, to her parents Genn O. and Charlotte L. Bergman Rutherford.

She married Thomas B. Sloan, Sept. 17,1949, in Flathead County. They moved to the Seattle area and started their family.

Charlotte was a school bus driver for Edmonds School District and Snohomish Community Transit in Lynnwood, Washington — totaling a 19-year career until her retirement.

They moved to a working farm in Eastern Washington (Hunters) 1 hour after her retirement.

With her family history of farming in Whitefish, she was right at home. She had love for all her animals — from the chickens, barn cat, dogs, cattle, and most of all, her horses.

Charlotte was a wonderful mom, grandma, and friend to many. She was a talented cook, a skillful gardener and was unwavering in her love for God's word.

Charlotte is survived by her husband, Thomas B. Sloan of 79 years, son, Micheal Sloan (Maureen), daughter, Kimberly Sloan Myers, son, Lyle Sloan (Michelle) and grandchildren, Benjamin Giddens, Jake Sloan, Daniel Sloan, Lucas Myers, James Sloan, Nicole Sloan and Anna Sloan Love, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
