The St. Ignatius Police Department is looking for nominees for its inaugural Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award.

The initiative, launched this month, seeks candidates who demonstrate meaningful community impact that improves the quality of life in St. Ignatius; leadership and initiative as expressed by taking action to address a community need or supporting others in a noteworthy way; and ongoing dedication (not just a one-time contribution).

“Let’s honor those who make our small town a stronger, kinder and more connected community,” writes Police Chief Jason Acheson on the nomination form.

Nomination forms are available at the St. Ignatius Town Hall, 12 First Ave., or may be downloaded from the police department’s Facebook page. Completed forms may be dropped off at Town Hall or emailed directly to [email protected].

The nomination deadline is Dec. 18.
