Noel C. Walther passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on Nov. 14, 2025, at The Village Senior Residence in Missoula.

She was born to Charles and Catherine Cornaz on Dec. 25, 1932, in Butte. She graduated from Butte High School in 1951 and married John Trinity in 1957. Together they had five daughters: Rebecca, Annette, Gretchen, Suzanne and Rachel.

Noel was a successful businesswoman who owned and operated Noel’s Card & Gift Shop in Missoula in the 1970s. After it closed, she worked as a bookkeeper in Missoula before she and her second husband, Peter Walther, moved to Polson. She was the secretary at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church until her retirement.

She volunteered in the community and was especially fond of her work supporting the Backpack for Bundles program with Helping Hands of Mission Valley. Noel and Peter moved back to Missoula in 2024 where they lived together at The Village until Peter’s death in June, 2025.

Noel was preceded in death by her husband, Peter, and her daughter, Annette Trinity-Stevens (David). She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Starkey (Brad), Gretchen Webster, Suzanne Crissey (John) and Rachel Krug (Robert); her grandchildren, Jen Finley, Adam Kerner, Derek and  Emily Stevens, Nick and Kara Webster, Cameron Baker, Tasha Lords, Joseph, Matthew and Noah Crissey, Kyle, Macie and Trevor Krug; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service and reception will be held at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, 130 S. 6th St. E in Missoula, at 11 a.m. Dec. 8.

Special thanks to Kara Webster for her extra care and medical support. Thanks also to Sally Meier for her years of companionship.
