Nova Jo Kellogg, 83, passed peacefully in her sleep at Life Care Center in Sandpoint on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025.

Nova Jo was born June 30, 1942, in Longmont, Colo., to Marguerite Iola Judy (Coleman) and Edgar Dean Judy. She spent her early childhood in Colorado and Utah before her family moved to Careywood, Idaho, in 1948. Nova Jo was one of the chartering members of the Careywood Eager Beavers 4-H Club. She and her family showed their Shorthorn cattle at the Bonner Country Fair with the 4-H club for years and Nova would go on to be a project leader for the club as an adult.

Nova Jo graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1960. She would later receive her teaching degree from University of Idaho. She took that degree and became a second-grade teacher at Southside Elementary, teaching for 36 before retiring in 2004.

She was happily married to her husband, Kenneth S Kellogg, for 33 years before his passing in 1997. Some of Nova Jo greatest joys in life were her daughter, spending time with family and friends, caring for her animals, and working the family farm.

Nova Jo Kellogg is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and grandson Justin Doty. She is survived by her daughter, Kenda Russell; her sisters, Tamara Judy and Eddie Sue Judy; granddaughters Rachael Maher and Jerika Russell; and great-grandchildren Justin, Elliot, and Bridget.

Memorial services to be announced.
