The concert promises to deliver a moment of Christmas magic as the Gothard Sisters return to the Panida Theater for the trio's Celtic Christmas concert.
The Dec. 6 concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Panida Theater, 300 N. First Ave.; doors open at 6:30 p.m.
At their annual Christmas concert, the Celtic folk group, comprised of three sisters — Greta, Willow, and Solana Gothard — delivers a high-energy, festive evening weaving together Christmas carols, Celtic tunes and songs, Irish dancing and more.
Raised and homeschooled in the Pacific Northwest, the sisters "grew up immersed in nature, imaginative play and traditional folk and classical music," the trio said on their website. Taking inspiration from around the world, their love of music, nature and folk music traditions around the world, the Gothard Sisters craft contemporary Celtic folks music that captivates fans from around the world.
The sisters have released 11 albums, with the latest "Moment in Time", released on Oct. 17. Like all their albums, the sisters play an assortment of acoustic instruments and deliver clear, enthralling vocals combined with modern production to create music exploring themes of resilience and adventure.
Through over 15 years of performing, touring and writing music together, the optimistic style of their music and performances continue to resonate with their fans, building a loyal international following.
The band's music is popular among a worldwide audience, and has over 58 million spins on various platforms, from Spotify to YouTube.
The trio have performed at performing arts centers, listening rooms and festivals across the United States, including a show at the Kennedy Center's Millennium stage in Washington, D.C., concerts with orchestras and symphonies, performances with Disney Cruise line in Europe, outreach appearances in schools across the United States and two tours in Japan with Min-On Global Music Network, performing over 50 shows there in 2019 and 2022.
The Gothard Sisters blend Celtic, folk, classical and new age musical influences, bringing songs to life with violin, acoustic guitar, mandolin, bodhran, djembe, whistle and vocal harmonies, Tim Carroll of Folk Words Review wrote in 2018. The result is music that is "vivid, inspirational and captivating," Carroll wrote of the band.
