100 Years Ago

While several local hunters have established a record of hunting deer for three weeks without getting one, Harry Howard, of the Great Northern office force, established a little record of his own Sunday when he went a few miles from town, shot a 220 lb. whitetail buck and returned home within the hour.

Diking and ditching work in Drainage District No.3 was completed last week, and this week the commissioners of the district accepted the project, which was completed by Morrison and Knudson at a cost of $50,491.16. The engineers estimate for the project had been $53,000.

Mrs. George Gray received a letter last Friday from Mrs. Nellie Eddy of Spokane, telling of the serious illness of Mrs. Eddy's father, S.D. Taylor, founder and for many years the editor and proprietor of the Bonners Ferry Herald.
