Artist Doug Flückiger will appear from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Art Spirit Gallery, 415 E. Sherman Ave., as part of downtown Coeur d’Alene’s Small Business Saturday celebration.

Flückiger, of Bonner County, is widely recognized for his photorealistic graphite landscapes and wildlife portraits. He will meet the public and offer a live drawing demonstration during the event. A raffle follows the drawing. The proceeds will benefit the gallery’s community programming.

Visitors will find framed originals and signed giclée prints of Flückiger’s work offered at discounts up to 20%, as well as smaller unframed prints and select raffle prizes. The evening will also feature a silent auction of artwork from regional artists.

A self-taught artist who has called North Idaho home for more than 27 years, Flückiger draws inspiration from the region’s wild landscapes. His work often captures the grandeur of the northern Rockies and the Tetons, including one dramatic drawing measuring 8 feet wide by 4 feet high. His pieces are frequently mistaken for black-and-white photographs, a surprise that draws many collectors to see his work in person.

High-resolution giclée prints, reproduced on thick, acid-free watercolor paper, preserve the detail and tonal depth of his originals.
