Sing along Dec. 6 with Mudgy and Millie or enjoy a contra dance Dec. 7

All-ages free entertainment will liven up the Coeur d'Alene Public Library the first weekend of December.
At 11 a.m. Dec. 6 in the Community Room, a Mudgy, Millie and Santa Sing-Along will offer fun for the whole family. Children will have opportunities to meet Mudgy Moose, Millie Mouse and Santa. Author Susan Nipp will read her book, “Mudgy and Millie Adventures: Australia."
From 2 to 4 p.m. the following day, Dec. 7, the Coeur d'Alene Public Library will cohost with the Spokane Folklore Society the first community Sunday Matinee Contra Dance. The contra dance will feature easy-to-learn dances taught by callers Penn Fix of Spokane and Debbie Mykkanen of Post Falls. Live fiddle music will be played by Spokane Valley band Crooked Kilt.
Everyone is welcome, including singles, couples and families. Wearing comfortable clothes is encouraged.
Contra dancing is a form of social dancing found in communities across the country. It is community based, featuring easy-to-learn dances taught by experienced callers, always with live music. These dances are welcoming, uplifting, intergenerational and safe for all ages, according to information from the library.
