Tough shooting night dooms Lady Griz

MISSOULA — Lani White led all scorers with 16 points as Utah pulled away from Montana for a 78-38 win in women’s college basketball Saturday at Dahlberg Arena.


Maty Wilke and Chyra Evans added 11 points apiece while Evelina Otto tallied 10. 


Jocelyn Land scored 11 points to lead the Lady Griz, who shot a dismal 10-for-58 from the field. Montana (1-5) was 6 of 37 from 3-point range. Mack Konig had nine points, going 7 of 8 from the free throw line. 


Utah (5-3) jumped out to a quick 9-3 lead and never trailed as the advantage grew to 42-25 at the half. Montana scored just 13 points over the final 20 minutes. 


The Lady Griz now prepare for a trip to North Dakota on Wednesday. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
