Colleen Mary Ross, 63, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025, in Sandpoint, Idaho. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025 at the Lakeview Funeral Home.
Colleen was born March 18, 1962, in Seattle, Wash., to George and Nancy Frazier. She grew up in Illinois and Seattle, graduating from Redmond High School. She earned her bachelor degree from Eastern Washington University and her master’s degree in counseling from the University of Puget Sound.
Colleen married Dave Obaitek in 1987 in Reno, Nev. Colleen worked as school district counselor in Spokane. Roughly around 2000, Colleen then married Marcus Ross and the family moved to Sandpoint. Colleen gained three stepchildren and loved them dearly — Roxi, Amanda, and Andrew. Colleen most famously worked as the school counselor at Lake Pend Oreille High School where she was adored by her students.
She loved physical activity, weightlifting, hiking, and spending time outdoors. She also enjoyed spending time with friends and family and dedicated herself to supporting her beloved students.
She is survived by three daughters, Ericka Obaitek of Boise, McKinzi Obaitek of Seattle, and Brooke Obaitek of the St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; mother Nancy Burton of Laughlin, Nev.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Frazier; and two brothers, Larry and George Frazier.
