The Thompson Falls-Plains soccer Hawk boys split games last week, falling 10-0 to powerful Columbia Falls Tuesday in Thompson Falls and rebounding to defeat Browning 8-0 in Browning Friday.

Coach Michael Scharfe and his Hawks will get a double dose of the Libby Loggers this week, playing the Loggers in Libby Tuesday and then hosting them in Plains for homecoming Thursday. The girls game will begin at 3 p.m. and the boys at 5.

Liam Pallister scored two goals to lead the Hawks in Browning Friday, Arrow Hyde, Landon Baird and Noah Scharfe netted a goal apiece, Clinton Weedeman scored one goal and assisted on another, and Caleb Hutchings converted on a penalty kick.

“It was nice to win an away game,” coach Scharfe said. "We will look to keep the momentum going this week against Libby.”

Scharfe said Jacob Howell played in goal against Columbia Falls, stopping 18 shot attempts.

“Columbia Falls has a good team but our guys stuck it out to the end and played hard,” he added. "Almost every player on our team had a steal or an interception which is pretty cool.”
