Phyllis Ida Muender Galloway, 85, passed away on Sept. 29, 2025. She was born on a farm in North Dakota on March 20, 1940. Her father, Rudolph, mother, Elsie, and brother, Melvin all moved to Whitefish when she was a young girl. In her younger years, she was part of the Girl Scouts and fondly remembered canoe trips on Whitefish Lake with her fellow scouts. She attended Whitefish High School and graduated with the class of 1958.

Phyllis belonged to the First Presbyterian Church and Moose Lodge in Whitefish. She was very active in her church over the years. Her greatest joys were being a deacon, belonging to a women’s bible study, and creating lovely floral arrangements throughout the sanctuary and fellowship hall, at times she even created a tableau on the stair landing during the different seasons.

Phyllis had many hobbies including painting, floral and wreath making, crocheting, embroidery, and planting beautiful flowers to enjoy during the summer. Most of all she just loved being with her family, having dinners and playing board and card games.

She is loved and is survived by her son, Paul Galloway and his significant other, Kara and her daughter, Karen McClintic and her husband, Coleman, as well as grandchildren, Michael, Kelsey, Jacob, and Matthew and great-grandchild, Liam. Phyllis will be deeply missed by many but is in the loving hands of God our Father.

There will be a graveside service at Glacier Memorial Gardens on Friday, Oct. 3 at 3 p.m.
