PREP ROUNDUP: Charter boys, girls shut out Bonners Ferry

POST FALLS — Not even a small delay could slow the Coeur d’Alene Charter Panthers on Wednesday. 

Sophomore Brooks Judd and senior Liam Hughes had first-half goals for the Panthers, who beat the Bonners Ferry Badgers 3-0 in an Intermountain League match at The Fields at Real Life on Wednesday. 

Coeur d’Alene Charter (11-0, 7-0 IML) travels to Orofino (5-1, 5-1) today. 

“I really liked how we played in the first half,” Coeur d’Alene coach Craig Daigle said. “We moved the ball around nicely. Elliot Engles had two assists tonight and played well tonight.” 

The game was delayed due to lightning for a half hour in the second half. 

Bonners Ferry (5-4, 3-2) travels to Lake City today.

POST FALLS — Senior Reagan Meine and junior Sierra Sheppard scored goals for the Panthers in an Intermountain League win over the Badgers at The Fields at Real Life. 

“We really came out flat in the first half and Bonners came out aggressive and outhustled us to most things,” Coeur d’Alene Charter coach Stacy Smith said. “The one positive to the first half was the string of passes that led to a very poised finish by Reagan. We woke up in the second half and fixed a few things that allowed for us to have a majority of possession. We just struggled putting away our chances. We were glad to finish with a win after a rocky start.” 

Coeur d’Alene Charter (7-1-1, 7-0 IML) travels to Grangeville on Saturday. 

Bonners Ferry is 4-6, 4-3.
