Whitworth 28, Pacific 14: At Forest Grove, Ore., Luis Salgado scored on a 14-yard touchdown run with 4:42 remaining, his second score of the quarter, for Whitworth (2-2) in a win over Pacific (1-3) in the Northwest Conference opener for both schools.

Rocky Mountain 31, Valley City State 21: At Valley City, N.D., Eric Lira caught a 16-yard touchdown pass from Trent Nobach with 8:19 remaining as Rocky Mountain (1-4) outlasted Valley City State (3-2).

Taycen Genatone, a redshirt freshman from Post Falls High, had a tackle for Rocky Mountain.

College of Idaho 48, Simpson 7: At Redding, Calif., Trey Gibson, a redshirt freshman from St. Maries High, had seven carries for 42 yards, including a nine-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter for College of Idaho (4-1) in a romp over Simpson (0-5) in the Frontier Conference opener for both.

Dylan Wolfe, a redshirt freshman defensive back from Post Falls, had a tackle and pass breakup for College of Idaho.

Montana Tech 49, Dakota State 21: At Butte, Mont., Jarret Wilson threw for 336 yards and three touchdowns for Montana Tech (6-0) in a win over Dakota State (3-2) in the Frontier Conference opener for both.

Derek Pearse, a graduate student from Post Falls, had one reception for six yards for Montana Tech.  

Montana Western 40, Southern Oregon 20: At Ashland, Ore., Michael Palandri threw for 263 yards and two touchdowns for Montana Western (4-1) in a win over Southern Oregon (1-4).

Carroll 34, Arizona Christian 12: At Glendale, Ariz., Kaden Huot completed 30 of 38 passes for 379 yards and three touchdowns for Carroll (4-1) in a win over Arizona Christian (1-3) in the Frontier Conference opener for both.

Gunner Giulio, a redshirt junior linebacker from Coeur d’Alene High, had six tackles for Carroll. Kolbe Coey, a freshman defensive back from Coeur d’Alene, had a tackle for the Saints.
