We all know young professionals making a difference in North Idaho through their leadership, innovation or community engagement.

They are imaginative, committed and hard-working. They are the future.

“In every corner of North Idaho, young professionals are stepping up — not just to lead, but to reimagine what leadership means," said Clint Schroeder, president and corporate publisher for Hagadone Communications. "They’re bold, community-focused, and willing to do the hard work."

The honor is just recognition, Schroeder said. 

"This 40 Under 40 recognition is more than just an award — it’s a spotlight on the energy, talent, and vision shaping our future," Schroeder said. "If you know someone making waves, now’s the time to nominate them. Let’s celebrate those who are advancing our region.”

The North Idaho Business Journal is seeking nominations for the 2026 North Idaho 40 Under 40. This program recognizes 40 exceptional individuals who are shaping the future of the region.

The deadline to submit nominations is Jan. 30, 2026. Nominees must be 39 years of age or younger as of Dec. 31, 2025.

Winners will be notified in February 2026. They will be celebrated in the 40 Under 40 edition of the North Idaho Business Journal, which publishes in April 2026.

The 40 Under 40 Awards Banquet will be held at the Coeur d'Alene Inn in April 2026.

Recognizing the region's up-and-coming leaders both celebrates their achievements, shining the light on the area's young leaders and innovators who are changing the game and keeping North Idaho's businesses healthy, growing and competitive.

These individuals demonstrate excellence and contribute to the overall success of their business or organization, serving as a positive example to both their peers and the community. 

They are involved in the community, serving on everything from community boards to government boards and councils. They volunteer, they listen, they are working to make a difference in both their personal and professional lives.

A panel of judges will select honorees from among the nominees. Self-nominations are welcome.

To ensure nominations are as competitive as possible, follow these tips:

• Ensure that all areas of the nomination are filled out and each question is answered. The judges can only work from information provided in the nomination packet and letters of support. If something isn’t listed, it can’t be considered.

• For ease, feel free to use bullet points, numbers, etc., instead of full paragraphs.

• The best and most successful nominations include facts and figures, not opinions. For example, let us know how a person or company increased revenue that year and provide numbers, versus letting us know nominees are “great to work with.”

• Make sure the nomination is submitted on time.

• Two letters of support of a two-page maximum may be submitted, but are not required.
