Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 2 months AGO
Fred, fondly known as Freddy Bear to his friends, passed away Sept. 18, 2025, at his home in Post Falls, Idaho, with his wife, Laurie, and Hospice by his side. He is now finally home with his Savior, Lord Jesus.
Fred was a beloved husband of 51 years to Laurie, father to William Kazlauskas (deceased), John (Cindy) Kazlauskas, David Kazlauskas and Kathy Porter. Grandchildren, Tiffany, David, Aaron and Liam. Great-grandchildren Taneisha, Jocy and great-grandbaby Phoebe.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Kazlauskas and Anne Balczus, brother Eddie Kazlauskas and son William Kazlauskas.
After graduating from South Side Chicago High School, Fred went on to serve in the Navy for four years. After the military, he lived in California for several years, graduated from San Jose State College and started his working career.
Fred met Laurie from Idaho and started their new life venture together. They lived on a mini ranch/farm for 12 years on the south side of the river in Post Falls, raising all sorts of animals, vegetable gardens and fruit trees. Fred loved hunting, fishing, boating and snow skiing. They also both loved going up in the mountains to cut their wood for the cold season.
Fred worked for Monaco Enterprises as VP Manufacturing for 25 years until retirement.
Fred and Laurie moved to Highlands Golf Course in 1991 and had a home designed on the course, for which Freddie was the general contractor. This is where Fred became an avid golfer and he and Laurie made so many new friends. After eight years, they moved off the course to another home in the Highlands in 2000 and have been there ever since.
Fred was a great friend to many and will be greatly missed; however, wonderful memories will be had by all. There are no services planned at this time.
