KELLOGG CROSS COUNTRY 

- 10/2 

PINEHURST – The Kellogg boys won the Ben Castro Invitational team championship behind strong performances from Shadrach Creswell, Davin Harju, Alex Cassidy, and Buck Coe.  

Priest River’s Tadhg McLaimtaig was the individual champion, but the Wildcats had four runners inside the top 10 to secure the team win.  

Kylie Calderone won the girls’ individual title, while also leading Bonners Ferry to a team championship.  

According to Kellogg coach Jeff Smith, Creswell currently sits inside the top five for the Central Idaho League, and the Kellogg boys are in a prime position to repeat as league and district champions.

BOYS TEAM SCORES: 1. Kellogg, 26; 2. Bonners Ferry, 30.  

GIRLS TEAM SCORES: 1. Bonners Ferry, 34; 2. Priest River 41; 3. Kootenai, 49

KELLOGG — The Wildcats beat the Miners 25-15, 25-16, 25-14 in their annual Dig Pink match at Andrews Gymnasium. 

Wallace senior Megan Hull had eight kills and 14 digs, senior Kylee Phillips five kills, 12 digs and one block, senior Aubrey Birdsell eight assists and six digs and junior Kayden Stutzke eight assists and two aces.

Coeur du Christ d. Wallace 

WALLACE — Senior Kate Clemens dished out a school-record 31 assists as the visiting Coeur du Christ Saints scored a reverse-sweep win over the Wallace Miners, 22-25, 18-25, 25-18, 25-20, 15-13 in nonleague play at Kirby Krulitz Court. 

Espi Klocko had 30 digs for Coeur du Christ. Maddie Junkin added 19 kills, Angelica Ross eight kills and 17 digs for the Saints. 

“It was fun to have another match to five sets where we had to dig deep and come alive,” Coeur du Christ coach Natalie Kiefer said. “We had a sleepy first couple of sets and then had to turn things around.” 

For Wallace, Kylee Phillips had 10 kills, 19 digs and three aces, Khepri Wood six kills, Megan Hull 11 kills and 13 digs, Kayden Stutzke 18 assists, eight digs and six aces, Aubrey Birdsell 16 assists, 11 digs and three aces.

Genesee/Colton 22 Wallace 18 

SILVERTON — In a battle of ranked versus should-be-ranked opponents, the Wallace Miners came up just short against the fifth-ranked Bulldogs. 

Sophomore quarterback Cooper Miller lost a fumble in the third quarter that was returned for a touchdown to put Genesee ahead 14-6. The Miners went 0-3 on two-point conversions, which ultimately was the difference in the game.  

Miller finished with 126 yards passing and one touchdown, along with 167 yards and two scores on the ground.  

Wallace (5-1) opens North Star League play at Clark Fork next Friday.

KELLOGG — The host Wildcats were shut out by the Bears in an ugly, penalty-riddled contest on Friday.  

Moscow totaled 433 yards of offense, including 216 yards and four touchdowns through the air and another 217 and five scores on the ground.  

The Wildcats came into the game down five starters, including quarterback Porter Lewis, top receiver Draedan Taylor and several linemen.  

Kellogg (2-3) hosts Anaconda, Mont. on Friday at Teeters Field.
