Savage Heat tame tigers in three sets

The Savage Heat went to St. Regis and defeated the homestanding Tigers 25-20, 25-18, 25-15 in District 14C volleyball action Tuesday.
Dakota Slonaker and Lanet Jakabosky led the Hot Springs girls at the net, Dakota with six kills and Lanet with four blocks.
Callie Cano directed the Savage Heat attack with 17set assists, Kara Christensen and Hollis Key hit three aces each and Mackenzie Johnson bumped up a team-best seven digs.
Hot Springs coach Maria Begger reports that the Savage Heat JV team also won in St. Regis, defeating the Tiger JV 25-20, 25-23, 15-10.
The Savage Heat varsity also went to the Mineral County Invitational Saturday but results were not available at press time.
This week, the Savage Heat are set to host Two Eagle River Tuesday and to visit Charlo Saturday in a pair of District 14C matches.
