The Bigfork Vikings put together their most complete performance of the season Friday night, electrifying a packed Homecoming crowd with a 46–9 rout of visiting Libby.
From the opening kickoff, Bigfork (3-2 overall, 1-1 Northwest A) left no doubt. Senior Rye Rodriguez took the opening kick 90 yards to the house, and on the next defensive series, Ozzie Buzzell intercepted a pass to set up quarterback Cole Schmit’s two-yard touchdown run. In less than two minutes, the Vikings led 12–0 and never looked back.
Schmit completed 12 of 20 passes for 159 yards and three touchdowns while adding a rushing score. His chemistry with his receivers shone through, connecting with Tayden West (9 yards), Tamret Savik (26 yards), and Austin Savik (36 yards) for scores.
West was dynamic on both sides of the ball, adding a 65-yard punt return touchdown and 65 receiving yards in one of his best all-around performances.
Bigfork’s defense was equally dominant, forcing three turnovers and holding Libby to just nine points. The Vikings’ special teams scored twice and consistently set up short fields for the offense.
Libby’s only touchdown came late, a 39-yard scramble by quarterback Tristan Anderson, but by then Bigfork’s Homecoming victory was secure.
